Drop off toys Monday-Friday from now until July 6 at the NCC offices beside Ebenezers Coffeehouse. 205 F Street NE, Washington, DC 20002.
Can't make one of these options work?
If you'd like to donate, but can't drop off at these times, please contact Laura Osuri at firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate.
Tips for Toys to Donate:
Because of language barriers, we can only accept toys that are self-explanatory or with simple /picture instructions. Books are fine, but it's best to include ones with lots of pictures – board books, picture books, early readers, graphic novels, cartoon etc.
Most of the refugees come from countries with very defined gender roles. So stick to gender norms: no dolls for boys, no trucks for girls. We cannot accept any toy guns or weapons.
There are space limitations - many families live in small apartments, so please donate smaller toys only (ex. no giant play yards or air hockey table).
Art supplies (markers crayons, scissors, paper, etc), legos (or any building toy), and sports equipment (balls and such) have been a big hit!
7-9pm Monday, July 10 At Miracle Theatre on Barracks Row

Baptism is an intensely important symbolic spiritual moment that involves your heart, mind, soul, and body.
Deeply rooted in Christian history and scripture, baptism is an opportunity to mark your spiritual journey, go public with your faith, and follow the example of Jesus. “Baptism” literally means to immerse under water, and that’s what happens. After you attend a short class, talk and pray with your campus pastor, you’re ready. You go under the water to identify with Christ’s death and burial, and you come out of the water to identify with Christ’s resurrection—and to symbolize your new life! Learn more about baptism here. We want to help you take this important step in your faith journey!
Each NCC campus will be celebrating baptisms in their own unique way this July. What a great opportunity to celebrate together!
Interested in being baptized? Congratulations! Click on your campus below and we'll be in touch with details.
Gainesville Join us Saturday, July 15, in the afternoon for a picnic, worship, and baptisms in Warrenton.
Potomac Yard Join us Sunday, July 16, during services at 10 AM - Outdoor worship and baptisms. At 10:30 AM, adults will head inside to our main service and kids will go to their classes. We'll have a party in the loft after services.
St. Jerome called the Holy Land "the fifth Gospel." We will take a four-dimensional approach to Biblical study by focusing on it through historical, geographical, cultural, and spiritual lenses. By studying the Bible onsite with insight, we are able to re-enter our contemporary world better equipped to determine what it means for us today. We will dive into the story of Abraham in Beersheba, join the Exodus in the Wilderness of Zin, gaze on the battlefield of David and Goliath at the Valley of Elah, and walk with Jesus from Bethlehem to Nazareth to Galilee to Jerusalem.
September 1-11, 2017. Led by Pastor Heather Zempel and Pastor Dave Schmidgall. Stay tuned for details. Interested? Email Jodi to be put on the list for updates.
