What does God expect of us? Is our faith just about going to church, studying the bible, and avoiding the most serious sins - or does God expect more? Have you embraced the whole gospel or a gospel while a hole in it?
In the "Hole in Our Gospel" study, Richard Sterns, President of World Vision, will challenge you to come face-to-face with these questions. In the study we will be challenged to rethink our understanding of the gospel and consider what God is asking us to do to bring about change in the world. We will discover that God is seeking far more than just belief, or fellowship with other believers, or prayer and bible study - He is asking for a total life commitment in bringing about a social revolution on earth as he did 2000 years ago with 12 disciples.
Richard Stearns was a guest speaker at NCC a few months ago. His message is a great preview of what our study will be about. Here is a link to that message, I encourage checking it out whether or not you've seen it before.
After completing the study from the book, "The Hole in Our Gospel" everyone will be encouraged to participate in World Vision's Global 6k (3.7miles) in the Washington DC area on May 19, 2018. You can run, walk, push a stroller, etc. and is family friendly. The goal of the Global 6k is to tangibly demonstrate support for those suffering from extreme poverty and social injustice. Here is a short video about the Global 6k.
