We all need a place to go back to: the home you grew up in, a favorite vacation spot, the place where you got engaged. Spiritually speaking, communion is a pilgrimage back to the foot of the cross. It’s the place we go back too. It’s the place where we are reminded that Jesus loves us enough to die for us.
