Day 4
Dave Clark
Aug 06, 2007 · 10:53 PMWhat a great day! This morning the team got off to a somewhat early start and headed out at 9:00 back to the house church. Everyone dove right in preparing the ground for the new brick floor for the church. Prepping the ground included clearing rocks, weeds and other unidentifiable debris. After the ground was clear and leveled, everything needed a good stomping and we were happy to oblige. We proceeded to dance to the locals’ choice of music, which we enjoyed thoroughly. After an elongated dispute over “Wheelbarrow” vs. “Wheel Barrel,” thus began the laying of the brick floor.
After lunch and a good scrubbing the team returned to the barrio where the neighborhood kids were once again awaiting our arrival. VBS this afternoon consisted of more songs, another grandiose story from our own Dustin with theatrical illustration from the rest of the team, craft time and more face painting. The kids particularly loved getting their picture taken and seeing the results.
Following VBS we departed once again with our Bolivian compañeros (volunteers from the local University) to share door to door and invite people to the Jesus film showing in the evening. Tonight was unique in the fact that the film was shown in the main plaza of the barrio. Basically the area is a big park and home to a local circus. Many people from the neighborhood turned out for the festivities of music, dancing, magic show and the children’s version of the Jesus film.
Tomorrow should be a blast as we may have a shot to go and see some ancient Aztec ruins. Stay tuned!

Wow, great job on the brick floor! Have fun at the ruins. Dustin says you all are going to my parents house too. Please ignore any awkward adolescent pictures of myself that you might see there. Praying for you all.

Another set of mad props are due for whomever shot the brick floor picture. Keep up the great work, you all! We’re praying for you.

I had to write and personally align myself with the advocates for “wheelbarrows” in the “wheelbarrow” vs. “wheelbarrel” dispute. This controversy was simply too politically sensitive for me to stay silent and on the sidelines, so I felt that I needed to get involved.
I kid I kid, but seriously it looks/ sounds like you are all doing great work down there, touching the hearts of the people and having a great time! Keep it up! I’m praying for you and wish you all the best!
God Bless,

I’m for wheelbarrow (as is Webster’s Dictionary). Keep up the good work, have a great time, and a safe trip back.
(I would note, however, that “wheel barrel” is much better than Pastor Mark’s spelling of Shih Tzu)
