Journey

May 29, 2007 · 9:52 AMWe spent last night with the Journey campus ministry at the University of Nairobi. They are in the process of starting up small groups, so the Hills and Gonzaleses came along to share their wisdom on making disciples and multiplying leaders. Between Kim Hill’s slip of the tongue (I’ve been sworn to secrecy; you’ll have to ask her!) and the captivating Gonzales skit, I think we held their attention. Hopefully, we helped get them excited and expand their vision for reaching their campus and discipling it through small groups. Kristen, Pat, Danielle, Theresa, and Tanny were able to bring ideas and creativity, as well.
Here’s the weird thing. Journey has 300 students involved. Only 50 are women. That’s about the opposite of our 18/4 team ratio of women to men.
Please pray for Gibson and his team as they reach out to these future leaders of Kenya.

I’ve been praying for you guys every morning and it’s so exciting to see what God is doing in Kenya!! I must share - I had a dream about the NCC Kenya team last night. I can’t remember most of it...except that at the end, when you guys returned, Heather gave me a “Pretty Pretty Princess” cake decorating kit she had bought me in Kenya. Um, what?? (I need to stop eating weird things before bed I guess! :))
Wanted to share a verse with you all, Deuteronomy 10:20-21: “Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” I keep it next to my desk at work and it always encourages me.
Can’t wait to hear all about it when you come back!
