Hey NCCers!

This year, we're hosting SIX Eggstravaganzas in DC and Northern VA!
Last year at our five Eggstravaganzas we hosted 13,529 people, and kids went home with 48,800 eggs!
This year promises to be even bigger as we add a SIXTH Eggstravaganza at Garrison Elementary in DC.
It will take an army of people to bless our communities with these FREE Easter egg hunts complete with games, prizes, the Easter Bunny, and much more! Each Eggstravaganza is custom-tailored to a particular community. What a great opportunity to serve in our neighborhoods, meet new neighbors, and provide a fun and festive Eastertime celebration for all.
Sign up to serve. We need you!

For the second year in a row, we will partner with Koinonia Childrens Ministries, the Christian and Missionary Alliance, and the Assemblies of God in Old Havana and Santa Clara. We will spend our days teaching children about Jesus, distributing care packages, creating teacher workshops, visiting refugee and elderly homes and more. We experience Cuban culture fully in that we stay with our Cuban brothers and sisters and work together daily. We will also have a tourist day to enjoy Havana. All are welcome especially teachers, counselors, evangelists and prayer warriors. We would love to have a couple that could do a marriage workshop as well. Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to this team.

DC Homeless Experience Info Session

10:00 AM • Barracks Row • Google Map

Contact: Zac Smith • zacmsmith@gmail.com

We will be holding info sessions after the 9am and 10:30am services at Barracks Row.

Join us as we partner with National Coalition for the Homeless for the 5th year in a row. This is an opportunity to get a small glimpse into what it would be like to live on the street in DC. You will see the world through the eyes of someone experiencing homelessness and hear their stories. You will learn what the city has to offer in terms of services and what it is like to sleep outside on the street.

Your empathy will grow and your stereotypes of people experiencing homelessness will change. God’s heart breaks for the poor and suffering right in our backyard. Let’s seek to understand His heart just a little bit more.

Kenya Mission Team Info Session

We will be holding info sessions after the 9am, 10:30am and 12p services at Barracks Row.

In Nairobi, Kenya there is a place called Kibera. Kibera is one of the largest slums in the world. There are over a million and a half people who live day in and day out in some of the worst conditions the world has to offer—on less than a dollar per day. With a message of hope and love, we will spend time working with those who call Kibera home. We are partnering with First Love International Ministries to work in the slum and at a children’s home where orphans the slum could no longer support are cared for. This will be a heart check for all of us as we work to bring Christ’s love to our family a world away. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and have your life changed forever. “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love” (Galatians 5:6).

Contrasting with India’s vibrant colors, aromas, and its rich cultural heritage are the dark industries of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Economic hardships and the lack of livelihood options combined with an entrenched, oppressive class system leave thousands desperate enough to become trapped in–or sometimes forced into–the vicious cycle of sex slavery.

For four years now, we have partnered with Sparsh in Pune with the focus of investing in the lives of children of current sex slaves. We will also be supporting their various initiatives that provide hope for current women in bondage as well as holistic restoration to rescued victims of trafficking and exploitation and to drug addicts. We will be working directly with local communities and with woman and children in the infamous red light districts to bring hope, joy, and love while facilitating healing.

Zambia Mission Team Commitment Meeting

We will be returning to Chingola, Zambia, in the Copperbelt Province for the fifth year, working with Lusungu Children’s Home and Mercy Kids Africa. We host a vacation bible school for 100 underprivileged children in the community, many of them orphans and vulnerable children. Working with the children also gives us an opportunity to tutor, teach life and job skills, and provide medical care. If you want to love on children, young and old, or have expertise in social work, teaching/training, medical, agriculture, construction, storytelling or business development we encourage you to become part of this team.

Share. Support. Serve. Nepal has one of the fastest-growing Christian populations in the world. Join this team to be part of an amazing opportunity to share God’s love in unlikely places. We will be joining NCC-supported missionaries to take the gospel to unreached villages in Nepal. We’ll focus on supporting church and community leaders, serving children and families in rural villages, sharing stories from God’s word and distributing much-needed supplies. We’ll also get to spend some time playing, praying, and providing encouragement to the children and families we serve. If you love spreading smiles or having a good outdoor adventure, you’ll love visiting the rural Himalayan villages surrounding Kathmandu to share God’s love; support kids, families, and church leaders; and serve this growing Christian community.

For the third year in a row, our Colombia mission team will work alongside of Fundación Uniendo Esfuerzos and Redeeming Grounds, supporting their efforts to bring about change in a rural community plagued by narcoterrorism and church persecution. We will also work with Children’s Impact Network to learn of their efforts at the Colombia Life Center safe house which provides trauma counseling, housing, food, life skills training, and health care free of charge to the families of pastors who died for leading others to Christ and for working to free rural communities long oppressed by rebels. We’ll see how God is changing lives in Colombia through the faithfulness of His people.

Holy Land Study Tour

12:00 AM • Google Map

Contact: Jodi Otto • jodi.otto@theaterchurch.com

St. Jerome called the Holy Land "the fifth Gospel." We will take a four-dimensional approach to Biblical study by focusing on it through historical, geographical, cultural, and spiritual lenses. By studying the Bible onsite with insight, we are able to re-enter our contemporary world better equipped to determine what it means for us today. We will dive into the story of Abraham in Beersheba, join the Exodus in the Wilderness of Zin, gaze on the battlefield of David and Goliath at the Valley of Elah, and walk with Jesus from Bethlehem to Nazareth to Galilee to Jerusalem.

September 1-11, 2017. Led by Pastor Heather Zempel and Pastor Dave Schmidgall. Stay tuned for details. Interested? Email Jodi to be put on the list for updates.
