Restless Longing for Shalom

Restless Longing for Shalom

With restless longing for shalom in our country, we as a spiritual family choose to actively pray for peace. Let's be challenged to actively listen to one another in humility, and respond with our hands and feet in love, justice, and compassion for the dignity and worth of people.

Scriptures to pray when you don't know what to pray:

Cry to God- Psalm 13

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
    How long will you hide your face from me?

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
    and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
    How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Prayer of Anger- Psalm 79

Do not hold against us the sins of past generations;
    may your mercy come quickly to meet us,
    for we are in desperate need.

Help us, God our Savior,
    for the glory of your name;
deliver us and forgive our sins
    for your name’s sake.

Affliction- Psalm 25

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.

17 Relieve the troubles of my heart
    and free me from my anguish.

Trust in God- Psalms 85

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
    he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
    but let them not turn to folly.

Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
    that his glory may dwell in our land.

Peace- Psalm 119

153 Look on my suffering and deliver me,
    for I have not forgotten your law.

154 Defend my cause and redeem me;
    preserve my life according to your promise.
