LEADING A SMALL GROUP
For us to be effective at making disciple-makers, we must be continually growing in our spiritual walk, too. You can think of it a cycle: your growth will spill out into your leadership of others. Seeking answers to the questions you have will aid your continued growth and help as you step in to help others as they grow, too. We have several ways to help you grow individually and as a leader.

Sermon Discussion GuidesEach small group leader is asked to participate in an official coaching huddle at their location or engage in a one-on-one discipleship relationship.

Small groups are the primary way that we disciple and care for NCCers.
In essence, our small group leaders are some of the front-line pastors of our church, so there are a few things we ask them to do to make sure that they're prepared both spiritually and practically to lead.
You’re not in this alone. Check out these leadership resources we’ve put together for you:
We ask that potential new leaders:
• Be part of an NCC small group for at least one semeseter. Find a group here.
• Complete our Leadership Application and online New Leader Training (takes approximately 4 hours)
• Meet with a member of the Small Group Team to review and sign the NCC Leadership Covenant
We were meant to do life together, and we believe that community happens best around shared interests and passions, so we have a variety of groups–from Bible studies and sports groups to service groups and book studies.
Regardless of the type of group, the purpose of each one is to create a place where we can grow to become more like Jesus: to model His character, ways, and mission to the world.
Jesus came with a mission to reconcile the world to God, to restore creation to its intended state, and He charged his followers with continuing that mission. Small groups aren’t meant to be insular communities but rather units of the Church on mission from God, bringing the light and love of Christ to those around them.
