How We Flourish / Like A Tree
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God. (Psalm 92:12-13, NIV)
In our “Flourish” sermon series, we were invited into Psalm 92 and the metaphor of the righteous flourishing “like a palm tree,” growing “like a cedar of Lebanon.” We explored how the relational, emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, and vocational aspects of health contribute to our flourishing, then reflected on the condition of our own heart, spirit, body, and mind.
Join us as we spend more time in this space, delving into some of the topics uncovered during the “Flourish” series. Over the course of 5 weeks, we’ll have five conversations with five different guests to help us gain a deeper understanding of how we might apply biblical principles in a way that cultivates individual and collective flourishing.
We will meet virtually via Zoom May 6th through June 3rd. Each 90-minute gathering will include a conversation with our guest, small group discussion, and Q+R (question and response) time.
Topics will include:
A Picture of Mental Wellbeing with David Steele
Integrated Mind, Body & Spirit with Louise Goodwin
Sabbath Rest with Pastor Joshua Symonette
A Lived Experience with Wycliffe Thomas
Collective Flourishing with Natalia Guzman
